Legionella shower water

Although legionella is killed at this temperature, the so-called thermal treatment method is not sufficient to prevent reinfection in the future.
The legionella bacteria themselves are relatively easy to kill. However, these bacteria have the property to nest in so-called host organisms. These can be amoebas, but also biofilm bacteria are well-known hosts.
The thermal treatment of legionella causes a problem here. Biofilm is not easy to remove thermally, so the total treatment aimed at legionella removal is often ineffective. Moreover, the costs for such a treatment are large.
A complete legionella treatment with SCD (stabilized chlorine dioxide) looks like this:

    1. Soak the contaminated parts (usually the shower heads) in a 50-100 ppm solution (a few minutes), this gives complete biofilm and bacteria removal and killing.
    2. Fill the piping system with a 50 ppm solution (1 hour).
      After rinsing, this gives a complete biofilm and bacterial removal and killing in the system
    3. Continuous dosing of 0.5 ppm automatic, this prevents biofilm formation and bacterial growth
