Ceramic but flexible: new ceramic membrane foils for fuel cells and batteries

It could be shown, that the new CREAFILTER® membranes are suited for filtration applications, PEMs for fuel cells and separators for Li batteries. In all cases the CREAFILTER® m embranes reaches or even exceeds the quality of competitive products. For future applications the filtration membranes will be developed with smaller pores so that the field of NF can be conquered. The CREAFILTER® PEM has to be optimized first to higher power densities and second to meet the specific requirements for DMFCs, because this market seems to grow enormously. The battery separators have to be improved with respect to lower resistivities, e.g. by reducing the thickness and increasing the porosity of the membranes.
