Abstract
MoO3-V2O5 binary oxides were deposited on the Au anode of the electro-chemical cell using yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) as a solid electrolyte, and tested for the oxidation of C2-C4 alkanes under the oxygen pumping conditions at 500°C. When the MoO3-V2O5 binary oxides were deposited by reactive sputtering method from pure Mo and V metals, several mixed oxides were formed on the Au anode, among which MoV2O8 showed the activity of oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane and propane to the corresponding alkenes.
