I n order to verify whether this conclusion has g eneral validity the method will be tested in c ombination with pilot- and full-scale plants fed w ith different types of water. If so and it is e xpected than the scaling monitor will be a s trong tool in: - O ptimising the operating conditions o f the f ull-scale plant, i.e. conversion and the require d anti-scalant/acid dose; - I dentifying the nature of scaling without the n eed to interrupt the operation of the fulls cale plant; - O ptimising the chemical cleaning procedure a nd frequency.
