Conclusion

(1) Coagulation applied, as a unit process does not caused full reduction of organic compounds, and therefore it cannot be applied as a single unit process in the treatment of water containing NOM. (2) Analyzing the results involving the unit process (ultrafiltration) we found high efficiency of turbidity removal from water and low removal efficiency of organic substances determined as oxidizability (COD) with KMnO4. (3) The application of the hybrid system results in higher removal efficiency of organic substances from water depending on coagulant kind as well as used mode of coagulation process (in line or ordinary coagulation with sedimentation).
