Performance of rotating membrane emulsification for o/w production

Emulsion production using rotating membrane emulsification has been demonstrated. Emulsion droplets with average diameter of 81–567 mm and coefficient of variation (CV) in the range of 9.8–33.6% have been produced. In conclusion, this study showed that rotating membrane emulsification can be successfully applied for consistent production of micronsized droplets with narrow size distribution. Nevertheless, further experiments for using different membrane materials should be conducted in order to improve emulsion quality.
