Conclusion

Bioartificial membranes based on a synthetic polymer and a one of natural origin were prepared and tested for their potential application in biomedical and/or biotechnological field. In general, results indicated good interaction between the two components, and template polymerisation seemed to improve the interaction degree and to affect the final chemical and functional properties. The capability of some membranes (prepared for example with EVAL and Dex) to carry out advanced recognition properties in the adsorption of solutes of biological interest resulted to be very interesting.
