Hybrid membrane materials with different metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) for gas separation

Behaviour of rubbery (PDMS) polymeric matrix containing MOFs is different due to glassy (PSf) polmer. Flexibility of the chains in elastomer allow higher loading of the filler in the matrix. The gas separations abilities of the fabricated organic molecular sieve membranes show improvement in permeability as well in selectivity for some gases compared to pure polymeric membranes. Using mixed matrix membranes for gas separation is a promising process that could compete effectively in the future with the traditional separation process.
