Water potabilization in developing countries: membrane technology and natural coagulants

The designed membrane facilities are effective in the pathogenic microorganism removal from surface water and allow to obtain safe drinkable water in rural areas of Ecuador. Natural coagulants from oil seeds show promising results in coagulation and antimicrobial test. Agro-based materials can be an exploited option towards achieving sustainable drinkable water.
