Conclusion

Surface modification with hydrophilic polymers is a suitable method to alter the interactions between the membrane surface and feed components resulting in a lower tendency to fouling. Furthermore, the results obtained so far might lead to the conclusion, that the surface modification in particular with PEGMA has an positive effect on the critical flux.
