Utilization of nanofiltration membranes for whey and milk ultrafiltration permeate demineralization

The selected membrane was able to significantly reduce the concentration of species that negatively affect the quality of the product, such as NaCl, while ions with high nutritional value, such as Ca2+, were recovered in the process. Protein and lactose losses were observed to be negligible as well.
