Conclusion
Monolithic polymers are suitable polymeric supports for the covalent immobilization of enzymes with high efficiency. The enzymatic activity of the membranes increases with the amount of crosslinker (EDMA) because of the increase of the surface of the polymer and therefore the amount of enzyme immobilized. When the content of dodecanol is higher, there is an increase of the pore volume of the structure, due to an earlier phase separation. A very high content of dodecanol leads to a decrease in the yield of the enzymatic reaction, because of the loss of the active surface for the immobilization of the enzyme.
