A n ew process was applied for treating e ffluent from the Apeldoom WWTP: adsorptive f iltration followed by NF (the ANF process). This p rocess has several advantages: • h igher fluxes (30 1/m2.h instead o f 102 0 l/mZ.h) at low TMPs; • h igh recovery (>94%) without scaling; • l ow brine production (<6% instead of 10- 2o%); • • • f ew chemical cleanings (less than one per m onth); d ouble barrier for pathogens as well as EDCs; s imilar costs to direct NF.
