Conclusion

T he application o f a combined UF and RO t reatment for the reuse o f spent filter backwash f rom treated swimming pool water is a suitable a nd environmentally friendly method for the r euse of water in swimming pools. Based on a f ull-scale study, membrane performance and the e ffects o f SFBW reuse on pool water quality and w astewater disposal were investigated. U F treatment of SFBW offers many advant ages. High-quality filtrates can be easily returned to the swimming pools without any safety conc ems. The results of this study indicated an a lmost complete removal o f particulate matter d ue to UF treatment. Caused by high water tempe ratures, high fluxes can be achieved, resulting in a n excellent membrane performance. Chemical R eferences [1] T. K6tzle, G. Merkl and P.A.
