Surface Water

Due to the high cost of drinking water and the fact that mains water is not always available, more and more industries use surface water for their feed water in the plant. Normally the surface water needs to be treated before it has the required water quality.

Treatment for industry and agriculture

The treatment first starts with filters, which go from coarse to fine. A drum filter is used in many cases as one of the first steps. Drum filters are particularly interesting; because they can treat large volumes with relative low pollutions at fine filter diameters.

Differences between tap-water and surface water

The quality of surface water is distinctive per region. In the summer, when it's warmer and there are more sunhours, your intake water can content more organical material. The pH is also different during the year, and also pollution from nearby industry and highways can be hard to remove.
