Nowadays, the speed and style of life in cities can be unsustainable and stress among other becomes general sickness from our
society. Therefore services and resources aimed to promote health and care on body and mind are essentially necessary.
Activities such as sports, relaxation techniques, massages and oxygen therapies are essential services to improve our standards of life.
Oxygen bars are popular and well known in Japan, Europe and Canada. Oxygen bars hit the market in United States beginning with the O2 zone project in Reno. Since 1997 a new association was founded called NOBA (National Oxygen Bar Association) in order to define policies and safety procedures.
There is a big opportunity ahead in relation to O2 bars and the market is starting to take off. It is a great business opportunity because there is a need for this therapy and not many who can provide it.
Effects of breathing high purity oxygen
People who have tried breathing oxygen assure that it helps them relax, reduces stress, increases concentration and alertness, and promotes general feelings of well-being. Those who breathe it regularly say they sleep more soundly, they wake up happier, it lifts up their spirit and it rejuvenates them.
In normal conditions oxygen is a colorless, odorless and insipid gas. We make the experience of breathing it more enjoyable by mixing it with aromatic essential oils extracted from plants and fruits. This way, you can be breathing oxygen and at the same time smelling eucalyptus, lemon, lavender, Clementine, mint… so therefore benefiting also from the so-called aromatherapy.
Are there any risks in breathing high purity oxygen?
In 1997, a new association called NOBA (National Oxygen Bar Association) was founded to define policies and safety procedures.
The American Lung Association said that there’s no risk as long as the oxygen is inhaled through a nose hose (see picture on the left) for periods no longer than 60 minutes. Oxygen can irritate the lungs only if these are exposed to it for a long time (more than a few hours).

Ever since the Industrial Revolution started in the second half of the 18th century, substituting human and animal labor for machine labor, the rate of combustion of fossil fuels has been increasing. To produce the energy needed to power this machines, fuels such as gasoline and oil must be burned. These combustion processes use up oxygen and produce carbon dioxide.
