Conventional water treatment would apply chlorination for controlling the micro-organisms. Lenntech preferably applies environmentally friendly technologies such as ozone generators. Disinfection systems for drinking water are often also applicable in air treatment. Odor control solutions provided by Lenntech use the combination of water and air for abatement of odorous components. Ozone scrubbers, adsorbent additives (Ecosorb) and biofilters are systems provided by Lenntech for industrial odor control. Bacterial control for process water and air systems are often similar. Stabilised chlorine dioxide for example can be applied for controlling a broad range of micro-organisms in water, ambient air and on surfaces. Swimming pool water treatment is essential for the quality of the air above the swimming pool. Conventional disinfection with chlorine chemicals causes odor complaints and eye irritation. Advanced disinfection treatment with ozone generator and UV sterilizers stronly reduces these complaints and increases the water and air quality. Recycling of water and air require a last step of fine filtration using membranes, drum filters and disc filters and active carbon filtration.
