Hardness
Hardness
| The hardness of the water says something about the amount of calcium, manganese and carbonic acid. In most cases of hardness, the concentration of calcium is too high. The explanation for this fact is that some grounds, and so groundwater, contains a high concentration of calcum. Drinking water is made from groundwater and that's why the hardness of water can be high. These ions or minerals, which cause hardness, are normally adressed as scale in the water causing scaling of pipes and equipment in drinking water and process water systems. To avoid this, you have to install and water softener. You can go back to the overview page about the waterquality. |
