You can read about conductibility and the influence of this on filtration on this page.
| The conductibility of a fluid contains some information about the ability of the fluid to conduct electricity. The ions which are solved in the fluid can guarentee that there will be an electric power. The conductibility of a fluid is expressed in Siemens/cenimetre. Conductivitymeters meausure all the solved ions in a fluid. That is why the conductivity is also expressed in parts per million Total Dissolved Solids (ppm TDS). The conductivity could be reduced by placing an ionexchanger. An ionexchanger is able to remove anions and cations from the fluid. Pure water contains few ions and because of this, pure water is not able to conduct an electric power. A fluid which is not able to conduct an electric power, has a high resistance. Resistance is the oppiste of conductibility. Click here to return to the page about waterquality. |
