In the picture below the you can find the size of common particles in wastewaterstreams. The size of particles is important in the waterfiltration because every techniques has his own range in which particles can be removed. On the bases of the data on the image below a filter could be selected for a given situation.  But you have to account of the fact that size is not the only thing what is needed to select a filter. The flow is also important and the waterquality is also important to know before selecting a filter.
