Infrared (IR) evaporator

Infra Red evaporation unit

This unit evaporates the water by using infra-red radiation (= warmth radiation). This warmth radiation only heats the surface layer of the water (till about 1 mm depth). The watery substance will be evaporated, the (dis)solved particles (heavy metals and salts) will crystallise and settle on the bottom. The concentrated sludge will finally be taken away from the bottom and stored in special designed bags. The remaining humidity can drain through the bag and will be carried back to the evaporation unit. The evaporated water together with the exhaust gasses will be taken away through a ventilation system.

Where can the evaporate unit be used?

  • To concentrate waste and process water streams

  • Acid recycling

  • Salt recovery

  • Wastewater

  • Ion exchanger regeneration streams

  • Alternative for addition to automatic waste water neutralization plants (to purify and polish effluents)

  • Sludge thickening (Also harbor sludge)

Advantages

If you use heat exchange units lump formation, oxidation or yield losses on the heating element can often occur, in this evaporation unit the heat is generated radiation.
The process by radiation is continuous (no periodic cleaning required)

In which industry sectors can it be applied?

  • metal plating sector
  • metal processing sector
  • printed circuit operation and production sector
  • paint processing sector
  • harbor
