Ceramic filter

A ceramic filter has the same functioning principle as cloth- and compact filter. The gas flow are conducted in a large chamber in which a ceramic filter material has been installed. The ceramic filter can be made out of aluminum oxide, silica oxide and silica carbide.

The advantages of a ceramic filter are:

  • The same general advantages as cloth filters

  • Ceramic filters have a high dust removal efficiency

  • Ceramic filters have been built modular and can manage high dust taxes

  • Fiber elements have on the other hand relative smaller pressure, At the same time they are cheaper and have a small weight

The disadvantages of the ceramic filter are:

  • Ceramic filters demands much maintenance and have a high weight

  • Fiber elements in which cloth or fiber is processed need a lot of support

  • Cleaning fiber elements demands large problems because on high
temperature the lump shaping of the dust are hampered back as a
result of cleaning and therefore difficult to remove to remove

  • Less suitable for sticky dust

  • Temperature fluctuations cleaning with press air

  • Explosion danger at flammable dust

  • Relatively high costs
